Interesting to see this as a historian of Waltham Abbey Football Club. The patch of ground behind Denny Avenue is now allotments with the football club showing a small are, as I know the club I know where the goal is. In the middle field to left of it is now swimming pool and the m25 runs right through..I can just see feint telegraph poles that were still there in the sixties as my Dad got my kite caught on them and this is proof as I always doubted that early memory!
